Sustainability
Unawatuna is working with our current suppliers and printers to see how we can use the most sustainable materials on offer. We are also working with more local suppliers for our upcoming product ranges to try to support the Australian manufacturing industry, ensuring they use ethical materials and practices.
All our products are designed to last in terms of their classic designs as well as the materials used.
Our Premium Beach Umbrellas use FSC certified wooden poles. FSC certification ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social, and economic benefits.
Our Rattan Beach Chairs use ethically sourced rattan. As a natural raw material, rattan grows very quickly and is usually harvested by hand by local farmers - the most eco-friendly way.
Our Prints are printed on premium 270gsm giclée museum-grade fine art paper using archival acid-free inks, ensuring longevity

Packaging
We are working on being as sustainable as possible when it comes to our packaging.
- For our branded Beach Umbrella boxes we have not used any coating so that these can be recycled.
- Our branded packaging tape when plain cardboard boxes are used, is paper based and recyclable.
- Our branded satchels used to send out smaller items, are eco-satchels that can be composted.
